    I think finding that first “grounding” piece for the garden is the hardest thing most of the time. Sometimes a piece just falls into your lap, but other times it’s like looking in the forest for the trees. Ha… and it’s months of looking for that one little thing that you can’t quite know what you want, until you “see” it. Thanks for giving some ideas about where to start.

    I’ve been dreaming of a fairy garden – one for me to enjoy when my GRANDs aren’t visiting, but also for some whimsy & imagination when they do visit. THIS post has inspired & encouraged me. I think the best bit of advice here is what you said about the centerpiece or the house. So easy & then it can all go together cohesively. Thanks for the advice from your own experiences & to avoid the mistakes you made. Now I’m free to make my own … teeheehee!

    I’m building a fairy garden with my grandkids this week. I did buy some clay this week, but otherwise my craft room held so many things already- lots of bought fairy things from much earlier, but also small stones, moss, tinkers from daycare past…
    We started building houses today with plastic bottles, clay and small rocks. So much fun! Thanks for your great pics! Lots of fun ideas!
